Digital agency VML has lit up Sydney's Vivid festival with see-saws of a different ilk. Lit with motion-based LED lights, the dazzling array has sent festival crowds wild, the agency said.

Dubbed 'We See Saw', which is what the crowds certainly saw, the execution features three see-saws next to a curved digital wall. The see-saws are embedded with LED lights controlled by pressure switches and gyro controls, so when people move, the wall lights up.

The execution took months of planning by the Sydney-based shop after winning funding for the interactive display but MD and creative head Aden Hepburn said it was all worth it. "Everyone seems to be loving it," he said. "See-saws invoke that feeling of nostalgia, childhood memories of fun and play. We wanted ‘We See Saw’ to give everyone the chance to be a kid again, even if it’s for just a minute or two...

"The installation has been unbelievably crowded since Friday night, with kids and adults alike just having a ball. Having the freedom to make something just for ourselves, that the general public can enjoy, is a real pleasure.”
