Retirement could go the way of the Dodo. That's super fund MLC's line and it's making an exhibition of itself. Literally.

Created by NAB Wealth and Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, its ‘'Let’s Save Retirement’ campaign  kicked off today with an interactive exhibit at the Australian Museum – a live-action, life-sized diorama dramatising that retirement could become a thing of the past and retirees an endangered species.

“This campaign is the first of its kind to address a crucial national issue and helps drive our goal of being the champions of retirement,” said NAB Chief Marketing Officer Sandra De Castro. Ms De Castro said the catalyst for the ‘Let’s Save Retirement’ campaign is the country’s estimated $1 trillion retirement savings gap1 combined with the fact that Australians are living longer, healthier lives.

“One in five Australians has already postponed their retirement and people are working far beyond the age they had envisaged,” she said. “We’re here to save retirement, and this campaign is all about empowering every Australian to retire comfortably.”

Take simple steps now and treat your super like any other savings account is the thrust of the message.

A major national advertising campaign kicks off across TV, print, outdoor and online channels on Sunday (23 March).
