Match Media has continued its winning run, landing all strategy, planning and buying for fund manager Platinum Asset Management.

The win comes on the back of Match being awarded the $4 million master media for Sunbeam in May.

Platinum manages funds worth $23 billion and until now has handled its media account, believed to be worth as much as $3 million across all platforms, in-house.

Liz Norman, Platinum's director of communications, said the move to appoint a dedicated media agency was the result of the increasing challenge of understanding the digital media market.

“For a number of years we have been planning and buying our media in-house,” Norman said.

“However the increasing complexity of the digital media space and our own business growth ambitions required us to look externally for specialised input. Match impressed us with the combination of strong strategy and digital expertise, as well as being a good fit for our business.”

Match founder and CEO John Preston said the agency would be working in partnership with Platinum's creative agency 3C.

"They are a highly specialized and incredibly successful business. They have a contrarian approach to their market and we have to equal that approach," Preston said.
