Fairfax Radio has appointed Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) executive Adam Lang as chief executive officer, as general manager Graham Mott steps down.

Lang is currently general manager Sydney and national director of operations of metropolitan radio at SCA.

Fairfax Radio acting executive chairman Michael Anderson said Lang’s appointment came after Mott indicated a desire to step back from day to day running of the operation.

“We are fortunate to have a talented person in Adam Lang to lead Fairfax Radio,” Anderson said. “Adam is an outstanding media executive and will add great value to the group.”

Mott will continue in the role of programming consultant.

Fairfax Radio includes Melbourne’s 3AW and Magic, Sydney’s 2UE, Brisbane’s 4BC and 4BH, and Perth’s 6PR and 96FM.
