A meeting between Facebook and Ten is scheduled for today, in which the two companies will discuss the nature of a potential strategic alliance.

It was reported over the weekend that both companies were in discussions regarding a tie-up.

A meeting between Facebook and Ten's senior sales teams was slated for today. It is expected Ten's sales head Mike Morrison will be at the meeting.

However, the exact nature of any proposed alliance is not yet known. It is not set in stone that any deal will proceed.

Both companies have been in talks for the past ten weeks.

Ten has often been criticised for not having a strong digital strategy in comparison to Nine and Seven, which are linked to Ninemsn and Yahoo!7 respectively.

Neither company had provided comment at the time of writing.
