Professional networking site LinkedIn has kicked off a series of videos featuring some of the country's top marketers to toast reaching four million Australian users.

To coincide with the milestone, LinkedIn has launched what it calls 'Power Profiles' – a list of the most viewed professional profiles by industry – and a series of accompanying videos featuring the likes of Commonwealth Bank chief marketing and online officer Andy Lark and Spotify Australia and New Zealand managing director Kate Vale.

Among the most viewed profiles in marketing and advertising are M&C Saatchi managing director David Whittle, Drink Digital digital strategy consultant Nicole Still and Bupa head of e-commerce and online marketing Ahmad Racheha.

LinkedIn Australia, New Zealand and South-East Asia managing director Clifford Rosenberg said in a statement: "Companies have taken notice of the increasingly massive data set LinkedIn provides and are using it to transform the way they hire talent, market their brand and sell more effectively by utilising the power of their networks.

"Apart from using LinkedIn to build their professional identity, we are seeing a strong uptake from our Australian members leveraging LinkedIn as a professional content platform to discover and share insights."

According to LinkedIn, its top four search keywords are 'marketing', 'sales', 'recruitment' and 'project manager'.

The firm said it is now home to over 80% of the country's professional population, as it estimates there are five million professionals in Australia. Its user base has grown 300% since 2010. Globally LinkedIn has more than 200 million members.
