Coles and Status Quo got beef

By AdNews | 24 July 2013

Beef mince is the latest Coles product being spruiked by Status Quo and their evergreen Down Down jingle, with the supermarket launching a new ad to promote savings of one dollar. Yes, that's down down one dollar.

Coles said the cuts on Australian beef will mince-spire meat-lovers. Ho ho. The supermarket claimed that beef was hot right now and that beef mince recipe searches had gone up up by more than 60% compared to the same time last year.

It's also discounting pork sausages and chicken thigh fillets.

The TVC shows the ageing rockers once again strumming oversized red hand guitars, mobbed by enthusiastic consumers brandishing large letters to spell out "mince". Exactly what it says on the tin.

Created by the supermarket's long-standing agency Big Red, media was handled by MBThree.
