Fairfax Media’s Australian Publishing Media will launch the Brisbane Times iPad app next month. Editor-in-chief Simon Holt said it's sleek and beautiful while the ad people are excited about native opportunities.

Advertiser sponsorship packages will be available from launch, consisting of full page interstitials and large format in-article ads.

“We’re very excited to be launching a native app to complement and build on our readers’ multibrowser experience, establishing the Brisbane Times as a multi-platform newsroom,” Fairfax media mobile director Stefan Savva said.

“The app will offer live news 24/7 and capitalises on iOS native functionality to provide features and functions such as crosswords, Sudoku, news alerts and section customisation, not available on BrisbaneTimes.com.au.”

Brisbane Times editor-in-chief Simon Holt said: “The Brisbane Times iPad app will provide readers with a beautiful, sleek and sophisticated format to access the latest local Queensland news and events as they happen.”
