Today we speak to News Corp group sales director Ramon Rodriguez.

Time in current role/time at the company:
Three months current role, three years at News Corp.

How long have you been in the industry?
Ten years.

How did you get here? Was this always the plan?
Started in media when I was 18 at Sensis as a contractor and instantly loved the media industry! No! I never knew I would make it this far! I never actually started studying marketing and business until I was well into my career.

Who guides you day to day?
My GM, he is a great boss and mentor.

What’s the best thing about the industry you work in?
Constant change and it’s always a forcing me and my team improve.

And the biggest challenge?
The competition in the ad space!

Whose job have you set your sights on in the future?
General manager of sales.

Where do you turn for inspiration?
I turn to various sources, high performing leaders in our business and a good podcast always helps.

My favourite advert is:
KFC! It’s fantastic at driving brand recall, it’s short, snappy and always leaves me hungry!

Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you?
I LOVE hiphop!

In five years' time I'll be:
General manager.
