Toy app taps growing m-commerce trend

The peak retail season is ramping up and to tap into growing online and mobile commerce trends, Toy & Hobby Retailer magazine has launched an app that connects shoppers with retailers.

Australians spend one hour and 19 minutes a month using e-commerce apps and sites on mobile, according to Nielsen's first mobile ratings report published last week.

To tap into that trend, Toy and Hobby Retailer, the national magazine for the toy industry, is launching a mobile app designed to point consumers in the direction of stores where they can buy all the latest must-have toys.

The app, which went live this month, is the first consumer facing initiative from the B2B title.

It allows users to search by demographic of the child they are buying for and price limit and links directly to e-commerce stores which stock the chosen product. It also offers a geolocation tool that integrates Google maps to find the nearest retail stockist.

The Best Toys App 2015 app is available on iTunes and Android app store. It will also be integrated with an online store that will push related news and content.

Toy & Hobby Retailer is owned by AdNews publisher Yaffa Media. More info here
