Hofmeyer will take the reins at Wavemaker Adelaide

Wavemaker has promoted Matt Hofmeyer to Adelaide MD, replacing outgoing boss Royce Zygarlicki, who is leaving the agency to return to his hometown of Melbourne after seven years in the South Australian capital. Hofmeyer has been with Wavemaker Adelaide (formerly MEC) for 12 years and has worked with many of the agency’s largest clients, including Mitsubishi and South Australian Government. For the past seven years, he has been the lead on the South Australian Government account, having played a key role in the account’s retention in 2015 and 2013. Wavemaker said Zygarlicki is leaving for family reasons and will take up a role at News Corp in Melbourne.

News Corp drives app traffic with new subscription model

News Corp is introducing the option of an app-only subscription for all four metro titles The Daily Telegraph, Herald Sun, The Courier-Mail, and The Advertiser. The new app-only subscription offer is expected to deliver growth in an expanding market of customers willing to pay for quality news journalism. The new, revamped, metro apps are part of a larger redesign of News Corp’s digital products. The move follows the recent change to the Facebook News Feed, which has seen publishers push their own assets.
