It's hard to keep up with all the latest moves across media, marketing and advertising, so we've made a list. Check out some of the biggest moves this week.

Thinkerbell promotes Sesh Moodley to executive creative tinker

Thinkerbell has promoted Sesh Moodley to executive creative tinker. Moodley joined Thinkerbell as head creative tinker in May 2020, bringing more than two decades of experience across the UK, Australia and US in agencies such as Crispin Porter + Bogusky, AKQA, 72andsunny, Saatchi & Saatchi and Victor & Spoils.

Lizzie Young goes from WeAre8

Lizzie Young, the APAC CEO and global growth officer for WeAre8, has left the company after less than two years. She has confirmed the departure but has not revealed her next move.  Joining in July 2022 as the CEO of Australia, her role was elevated a year ago to take on global responsibilities. Danika Johnston, who joined the company as chief commercial officer in June 2022, has been promoted to MD of Australia.

UM promotes Adam Russell GM Melbourne, as MD role is made redundant

UM Australia has promoted Adam Russell to the newly created role of general manager Melbourne. The news comes after UM made the Melbourne managing director role redundant last month, seeing Gareth Nicholls exit the business after eight years. Russell, as well as the new role, retains his current remit as client lead on key Melbourne clients including Kmart and OnePass.

Beverley McGarvey steps into new role for Paramount

Beverley McGarvey has been appointed president of Network 10, head of streaming and regional lead for Australia and New Zealand, reporting to Pam Kaufman, president and CEO of international markets, global consumer products and experiences. McGarvey will have both commercial and creative leadership of Paramount’s multi-platform business in Australia, with oversight of Network 10 and its portfolio of brands, including 10 Play.

Peter Bauld joins Revium as executive GM

Revium, a full-service digital and AI consultancy, has appointed Peter Bauld as executive general manager. He joins Revium after six years as a director at Deloitte Digital, where he led engagements locally and internationally with clients and global offices on innovative technology and creative services. He has also held positions at WPP and established several businesses in Australia and the United States.

Prashand Menon named Veridooh's group business director for NSW and QLD

Prashand Menon has been appointed group business director for NSW and Queensland at out-of-home (OOH) adtech Veridooh. Menon, reporting into ANZ agency and partnerships director Jordan Scott, will take on responsibility for growing relationships with new and existing clients as they look to maximise the value of their OOH investments. He was most recently group business director for ScentreGroup. Previously, he held positions at both Seven West Media and News Corp in their group sales teams.

Bruce McWilliam steps down from Seven West Media

Seven West Media (SWM) commercial director Bruce McWilliam has resigned after nearly 20 years at the business. Before joining SWM in May 2003, he was a director of BSkyB, executive director of News International Television and general counsel of News International PLC. Previously, he was a partner in the law firms Gilbert & Tobin, Turnbull McWilliam and Allen Allen & Hemsley, specialising in media and commercial law.

Matt Gudge named CMO of Healthengine

Consumer healthcare platform Healthengine has appointed Matt Gudge chief marketing officer. Joining the company with experience in Australia and the UK, the former Mable and Big Red Group senior marketer joins Healthengine's leadership team with immediate effect. Gudge will report to chief executive officer Dan Stinton.

Trout Creative Thinking appoints Georgia Arnott ECD

Trout Creative Thinking has appointed Georgia Arnott to the role of executive creative director, working closely with Gavin Pitcher, founder and creative advisor, and Anthony Bologna, creative director. Arnott is moving to Melbourne from Sydney for the role.

Gravity Media appoints MD for Australia

Broadcast technology and production company EMG / Gravity Media has appointed Scott Kinlyside managing director, Australia. He was previously business administration and commercial director.

Rolling Stone names James Jennings as editor

Having written for the previous incarnation of Rolling Stone AU/NZ for 10 years, James Jennings is a former editor of Empire magazine and has written for titles and clients including NME, The Walt Disney Company, Foxtel, StarWars.com.au, SBS, Jaxsta and many more. He currently writes gig reviews and music artist interviews for The Sydney Morning Herald.

Kris Casey joins NP Digital

End-to-end performance marketing company NP Digital has appointed Kris Casey as SEO APAC lead. Casey brings over 12 years of experience leading SEO teams across agency and in-house settings in the US, Australia, and Asia. He will spearhead NP Digital's search engine optimisation efforts across the APAC region, driving growth and enhancing brand visibility.
