Financial commentator Ross Greenwood will present the 2015 Budget night nationally for the Macquarie Radio Network, as a result of its merger with Fairfax Radio Network.

The broadcast, which will be live from Canberra on 12 May, will be on Sydney's 2GB, Melbourne's 3AW, Brisbane's 4BC, Perth's 6PR and MRN's affiliate station FIVEaa in Adelaide.

The on-air broadcast will be accompanied by podcasts on the stations' websites and streaming on the stations' apps.

Greenwood presents the Money News weeknight program on both 2GB and 4BC.

The network was formed as a result of the merger between MRN and FRN earlier this year. MRN chief operating officer Adam Lang said the Budget night broadcast showcases the strengths of having a national talkback network.

“This is an exciting new chapter for Macquarie Radio Network as we bring our listeners the best Budget coverage and analysis in a unique first for our News Talk network,” Lang said.

“MRN has brought together the best radio talent in the country and this will be one of many firsts.”

“Greenwood's ability to simply explain financially complex matters will arm our listeners with the essential Budget insights, facts and the most relevant factors for them.”
