InStyle Australia is relaunching less than two years after being shut.

The fashion and lifestyle masthead is being revived in Australia and New Zealand by True North Media. It was initially closed by Bauer Media Australia in July 2020, along with seven other titles, due to a difficult advertising market.

The title, which launches with an established social following of over 874,000, will be published in a digital-first format with online, live events, and branded content. There are also plans to publish biannual print editions.

InStyle will be led by editor-in-chief Justine Cullen who is also chief content officer of True North Media.

Under the leadership of Cullen and True North Media publisher and CEO Simon Bookallil, InStyle will be design-rich and interactive, incorporating video and animations to reimagine the digital magazine medium for a new era of publishing.

“We are excited to relaunch a title that has seen significant digital growth in key markets across the world,” says Bookallil.

“As a global, trusted brand, the time is right to bring InStyle back to Australia and New Zealand. Under Justine's direction, we will see a robust digital offering, engaging events and experiences, and introduce a new generation of audience to the InStyle masthead.”

InStyle is the first launch for independent publisher True North Media, which will lead marketing, sales, and commercial strategy. Further editorial roles will be announced closer to the magazine’s first issue which is set for release on 15 April.
