Fairfax took home the 2015 UnLtd Cup. Will they win this year's game?

The media industry will go head-to-head on the futsal court Thursday  23 June, as they compete in the fifth Annual UnLtd Cup. Raising funds for UnLtd beneficiary KidsXpress.

Each team has donated $2,500 to enter the tournament. This is the cost to fund a child through KidsXpress’ expressive therapies program.

The event has raised $40,000 this year, which will see at least 16 young people undertake a journey in un-doing the damage caused through trauma, family loss and domestic violence.

It’s set to be a good game, with teams signing up from major publishers, agencies, technology companies and trading desks, including MediaBrands, AppNexus, MCN, Bohemia and more.

Fairfax is headlining Group A in its bid to make it nabs three wins in a row.

The highlight of Group B is the clash between OMD and Carat for agency bragging rights. Red Planet is the newcomer in Group C, while RadiumOne will be aiming to move past their semi-final result of the previous two years from Group D.

In addition to the on-court action there will be plenty of prizes, a cross bar challenge and a penalty shootout open to both players and spectators.

UnLtd Cup founder Marc Barnett says: “I am proud to be part of an industry that is so generous with its time and money to help the community wherever possible. We have now raised $170,000 over the past five years, which has helped KidsXpress to significantly change the lives of young people forever.”

The celebrity game will return in 2016 with a team of celebrities playing against a team made up of one player from each of the eight teams that do not qualify for the quarter finals. The celebrity team will consist of: Luke Ricketson, Tim Omaji, Heather Maltman and Andrew Mehrtens.
