GEELONG: Ford Australia is celebrating 50 years of the Ford Falcon with a TV and press campaign which highlights the company's landmark moments.

The campaign, created by JWT Melbourne, launches today (28 June) and is set to run over a period of months across major metro and regional programming.

Activity will also run in primetime breakfast slots through partnerships with the TODAY Show and Sunrise, supported by a print campaign featuring the new Ford Falcon XR6 and the new Ford Falcon 50th anniversary logo. Media buying is handled by Mindshare.

Ford general marketing manager, David Katic, said: "The new TVC will use the Ford Falcon’s 50th anniversary as an opportunity to engage Australians and remind them about Falcon’s long history of innovation by featuring modern footage of the current FG Falcon, G Series and XR.

"2010 presents a great opportunity to celebrate Australia’s most-loved vehicle and the new marketing campaign demonstrates the investment Ford is continuing to make in future technologies for Falcon in Australia.”

Ford had a main media spend of $29.9 million in the 12 months to April 2010, down on $33.4 million in the previous corresponding period.
