EXCLUSIVE: MediaCom CEO Toby Jenner has been promoted to executive chairman, replaced by COO Mark Pejic as part of a big shake-up of the media agency's senior ranks.

The promotions - effective from 1 January 2012 - come hot on the heels of a very strong year for the WPP-owned agency, with the highlight being the capture of the $70 million Westpac media planning and buying account, as revealed by AdNews.

Six of MediaCom’s senior executives have been elevated to new roles in addition to the Jenner and Pejic promotions.

James Ledger, previously joint head of client communications planning, Sydney, becomes chief client communications planning officer, MediaCom Australia.

Paul Brooks is promoted from head of implementational planning and investment to chief investment officer, MediaCom Australia.

Gemma Newland has been elevated from head of branded content division MBA (MediaCom Beyond Advertising) to executive creative director, MediaCom Australia/MediaCom Beyond Advertising.

Nick Keenan, previously head of non broadcast implementational planning and investment (IP+I), takes on the role of head of IP+I, Melbourne.

Naomi Johnston has been moved up from group director, client communications planning Melbourne to head of client communications planning, Melbourne.

The final piece in the reshuffle sees Anny Havercroft promoted from group director innovation and technology to head of MBA, Melbourne.

Jenner, who has been in the CEO role since August 2009, said: "Whilst it’s been an incredible team effort across the last two years it’s great to be able to publically recognise some of those individuals who’ve been instrumental in our recent success.

“To further energise our business through internal promotions alone is all testament to the strength in depth we have at MediaCom and the individual development programmes we have in place. We also wish Andrew (currently Joint Head Client Communications Planning) well in his new role at Initiative.”

Pejic said: “I’m delighted that our partnership has proved so successful and look forward to building on it moving forwards. It feels like we’re only just getting started.”

MediaCom said billings are up 18% this year (Adex) against stagnant growth in the overall market. The agency has won a plethora of top awards across the industry and is AdNews' current Media Agency and Network of the Year.
