Samsung appoints marketing director

Samsung Electronics Australia has appointed former Lion Nathan marketing director Arno Lenior as marketing director of corporate.

He has replaced Lambro Skropidis, who left the company in December last year, having joined the company in May 2008.

Effective immediately, Lenior will lead the Australian Corporate and Marketing Communications division across all product divisions including audio visual, mobile, home appliances, information technology and digital imaging.

Samsung Electronics Australia managing director S.R. Yoon said: “Samsung is increasingly being recognised for its first to market achievements and progressive innovation throughout all of our business units. Arno's appointment signifies the next chapter, taking the Samsung Electronics brand to the next level with an even stronger focus on delivering our brand message of relentless passion to inspire and enrich lives."

Lenior has previously worked for brands including Lion Nathan, where he was marketing director of premium brands and innovation. He has also worked for Gateway, NEC and Toshiba. Lenior also worked as a marketing director for Apple for close to five years.

Most recently, he ran his own strategic consultancy business Provocate working with clients such as Air New Zealand and Virgin Mobile.
