Val Morgan Digital (VMD) has revealed the new editorial team for Popsugar Australia.

The women’s beauty and lifestyle publication came under VMD’s portfolio this month, taking it from Nine’s Pedestrian Group, after the business reached a deal with US-based Group Nine Media.

Leading the title is VMD managing director Brian Floirido and publisher Amanda Bardas.

Valentina Todoroska has been appointed managing editor of Popusugar and The Latch while Bardas is on maternity leave.

Alexandra McCarthy, beauty and wellness editor for The Latch, has been appointed as Popsugar Australia beauty editor. McCarthy has previously worked at print publications including Woman’s Day, Elle, WHO Magazine and Girlfriend Magazine.

Also joining the team is Lyndsey Rodrigues as entertainment producer. Rodrigues brings more than 17 years’ media experience, having worked with Buzzfeed and Cosmopolitan in New York City as well as at The Hollywood Reporter and the US edition of Popsugar.

Rounding out the team is Adam Fischer, national sales director who continues to lead Val Morgan Digital commercial opportunities.

“The VMD portfolio and team has gone from strength to strength as we continue to build a publishing network by design,” Bardas says.

“Each publication complements the Val Morgan cinema and outdoor networks, and it’s because of this that we stand apart from other digital publishers.

“Each member of the team brings their own unique skill set to their role, which will be valuable in helping us take Popsugar Australia to the next level while continuing to grow the wider Val Morgan Digital business.”

Popsugar joins Val Morgan Digital’s portfolio of titles; The Latch, Fandom, and Thrillist.
