With just a few days to go until the start of the 2018 UnLtd Big Clash, we sit down with the captains of the teams to get to know the players a bit more.

The debute Melbourne tournament is happening on the 15 February

The Melbourne Tech team is captained by Domain's Andrew Knowles. In Knowles the team has a capatin already recognised as being 'best and fairest' (although it was in under 18s mixed netball), and thinls his tech team, like in the real work, can dominate.

Come along to watch the tournament on 8 February at Sydney Uni Oval, and the Melbroune contingent will play in Fawkner Park, Melbourne on 15 February. The Media Agency team has taken the glory for the past two years but more importantly The Big Clash has raised $130,000 to date. There's more info here.

Full name: Andrew Knowles
Job title, company name: National Sales Director – Domain Media
Location you are based: Melbourne
Duration in current role/time at the company: 4 years
What’s your finest sporting moment on the pitch/field/court : Best and fairest …. Under 18s mixed netball
Who is most likely to be out for a duck in this year’s UnLtd Big Clash cricket match? Definitely Tim Murphy, he has been worried about my pace for years.
Why is your team going to win Big Clash? Looking at the competition there isn’t much we are up against
What does UnLtd mean to you/Why are you taking part in Big Clash? Domain Media have worked with UnLtd and the associated charities in the past. It inspired and resonated with the group and we will continue to be a supporter. I would recommend any company to invite one of the charities into their office and see what a difference getting involved can make to people’s lives!
Best thing about the industry you work in: Our industry is great in many ways, We work with smart and interesting people, fascinating technology and ideas and we get to have a bit of fun… being able to pass some of this knowledge and skillset to a good cause makes it worthwhile
Why should people come down to watch your team battle it out against the others? If high class, action packed cricket wasn’t enough of reason, supporting a great charity should make your mind up.
This year the adtech team and creative team are new on the pitch - do they have a chance against the Media agencies and Media owners? Like in the real world, digital and tech are taking over, this won’t be any different out in the middle.
Tell us one thing people at work don’t know about you? Im just a simple kid from the country tying to make it big in the city
Top networking tip: Don’t network, be genuine and take an interest in people, there is something to learn from everyone.
My favourite restaurant for a business lunch is: The Albion, when it opens!
My favourite advert is: Any on Domain
My must-have gadget is: iPhone…. If that’s considered a gadget
My favourite TV show is: Sopranos
The last book I read: The Barefoot investor
My mantra / philosophy is: treat everyone as equals
I got into advertising/ad tech/marketing because: Initially because it looked like great fun, no more so it’s the people in it. Smart creative and still fun!
If I wasn't doing this for a living, I'd be: bored

Come down to watch the tournament in Sydney on 8 February and see if the Media Agency team can take victory for a third year running, or whether the Media Owners, Creative Agencies or AdTech team can steal the glory on the pitch. There's also a charity auction on the day. The second tournament takes palce in Fawkner Park, Melbourne on 15 February.
