Tom Ward joins Cummins&Partners as MD

Former Naked Communications managing director Tom Ward has joined Cummins&Partners as boss of its Melbourne office, after departing Naked earlier this month.

Ward had been MD of Naked since March 2013. His departure came just weeks after Naked CEO Carl Ratcliff took the role to head up One Green Bean.

Ward has more than 15 years experience in advertising, including a role as head of strategy and insight at GPY&R and account management at Clemenger, TBWA London and St Lukes.

Cummins&Partners national CEO Chris Jeffares said Ward's experience across media, strategy, insights and creative was an important factor in his hiring.

“In our rapidly-changing industry, Tom's experience at some of the best agencies in the world is highly valued,” Jeffares said.

“We wanted someone that understands where the industry is heading, in terms of both creative and media.

“He's strategically-minded, creatively-driven, and will be a great fit with our business.”

Ward said he “jumped at the chance” to work with the leadership team at Cummins&Partners.

“They are elite talent, with a great 'joined up' business model, and have blazed a trail in the last few years,” Ward added.

It follows the announcement last week of creative duo Julian Schreiber and Tom Martin's return to Australia, to take up roles as joint creative directors of Cummins&Partner Sydney.
