AdNews brings the stories of those working from home (WFH) in the advertising and media industry during the coronavirus crisis.

Stuart Alexander is creative director at The Monkeys, part of Accenture Interactive:

How are you dealing with the silence?
Do you mean when people don’t realise they’re on mute? I enjoy those brief moments, but inevitably someone tells them.

What’s the upside?
In a work sense, I think it’s been galvanising. Someone once described the best creative agencies as being similar to a gang and I remember thinking that was a really apt description. The shared nature of this experience has strengthened that, both internally and with our clients, which I’m lucky enough to be enjoying.

I’m also seeing lots more of my family, which is also great.

The downside?
The pub being closed was a fairly sizable downside.

How are you using the commuting time saved?

I like to do a few warm-up video calls to make sure I’m 100% ready to go when the bell rings.

I am looking forward to being back in the office because …
My home office simply doesn’t compare.
