The most prolific advertisers in Australia - February 2024

The financial sector is currently leading the pack in advertising volumes in Australia, according to analysis by Melbourne-based Bigdatr.

The competitor intelligence business tracks ads across platforms including TV, digital, OOH, social media, and then assigns a value to create a total spend.

The brands driving advertising in Australia for February 2024:

  1. Commonwealth Bank ($9.8 million)
  2. Medibank ($9.6 million)
  3. McDonald's ($8.8 million)
  4. NSW Government ($8.2 million)
  5. Telstra ($7.65 million)
  6. American Express ($7.6 million)
  7. Bupa ($7.4 million)
  8. Toyota ($6.9 million)
  9. Optus ($6.7 million) 
  10. Westpac ($6.5 million)

And by sector:

  1. Banking and Finance
  2. Food, Produce and Dairy
  3. Automotive
  4. Entertainment
  5. Government, Political Parties, Industry Associations and Unions
  6. Technology
  7. Restaurants
  8. Communication
  9. Department Store
  10. Health Insurance
