Jacquie Alley, chief operating officer at The Media Store, dedicated the agency's Employer of the Year (headcount under 75) win to finance manager Andrew Chhay Lim (Limmy).

The AdNews Agency of The Year judges were impressed with the agency’s investment in diversity and inclusion, with "a deep understanding that people are at the core of their business", and the winners proved this commitment on stage.

Alley, when accepting the award, used Limmy as an example of how every person matters and makes a valuable contribution towards re-imagining media for the independent agency's clients.

"Being a great employer is not about staff benefits, days off, or even new initiatives but for The Media Store it’s about genuinely caring about our people and fostering an intangible feeling of belonging," Alley said.

"It’s why many people leave for stints elsewhere then call up asking to ‘come home’. It’s also why it was not out of character for us to take along a mix of our team to the awards ceremony including our phenomenal Finance Manager, Limmy.

"Not only is he incredible at his job but his humour and care factor are massive contributors to our culture and so he was invited. Leading up to the event, Limmy was so excited."

In Limmy's words, "A free feed and the chance to hang out with the bosses.. what a privilege! I would love to attend."

"This is what makes indies unique, that everyone receives opportunities, as I doubt there are any other media reconcilers in the crowd," Alley said.
