Former Droga5 CD moves to Publicis

Publicis Sydney has appointed former Droga5 creative director Jo Sellars as it looks to place creative leadership across all channels of communications for clients.

At Droga5, Sellars worked on campaigns including Woolworths, Sunsilk. Previously she was group creative director and copywriter at Ogilvy Sydney.

Publicis Australia chief creative officer Grant Rutherford said he is evolving the agency's creative capabilities to anticipate future opportunities, particularly for brands working with their agency to manage the entire customer journey.

“I have been working with Jo since October last year, and she is a very strong creative director, thinker and leader,” Rutherford said.

“She is the person to ask the tough questions of our creative challenges and to lead the Sydney group to more compelling and effective creative work as our offering evolves."

Quickflix seals licensing agreement

Quickflix has managed to re-work its existing obligations under studio licensing arrangements to debt, paving the way for more nimble agreements.

The streaming player said the debt could be converted into equity down the track, and it would allow Quickflix to sign deals that aren't subject to minimum guarantees.

It comes after Quickflix agreed to be a reselling agent for fellow streaming player Presto.

Brands hoping for Tour glory

Skoda and Colonial First Estate have re-signed to sponsor SBS' coverage of the Tour de France, with Samsung and Alpecin coming on board for the first time.

The brands have come on board in the 25th year of SBS broadcasting the event, which gets underway in The Netherlands on 4 July.

There are several integration opportunities being pursued, including a live tracker app, a content series to air on SBS and competitions run alongside the coverage.
