M&C Saatchi unveils new strategy director

Creative agency M&C Saatchi has lured strategist Rachael Kimber back home from the Netherlands, to serve as strategy director with a focus on Optus and IAG Insurance.

Kimber was working in the 72andSunny office in Amsterdam, where she worked as lead strategist on Smirnoff Western Europe and the Samsung TV accounts.

Kimber is the latest in a string strategy hires at M&C Saatchi which include former BBH London strategy director & partner Ross Berthinussen, and former Ogilvy & Mather global planning partner Kate Smither, plus digital strategy director Michael Sinclair, from Droga5.

Unlocking the power of data

The Association for Data-driven Marketing and Advertising (ADMA) has announced a raft of global speakers for ADMA Data Day 2015.

Head of insights APAC at LinkedIn, Peter Hubert; chief data scientist from Harvard Innovation Lab, Jothi Periasamy; director, insights and analytics solutions centre at Kellogg's, Aaron Fetters; vice president of marketing at Starwood Hotels and Resorts, Daniel Kerzner and head of CRM at Leto Bank, Pavel Tulubyev, are among the many speakers.

There are four conference streams this year with local and international speakers talking about data-driven content marketing, data strategy, data activation and data outlook. Other brands include HelloFresh, taste.com.au, eBay, Nine Live, Woolworths, Qantas Loyalty and Google.

Data Day 2015 takes place in Sydney (Sofitel Wentworth Hotel) on 24 March and in Melbourne (Crown Promenade) on 26 March.

Jones heads to Switch

Digital agency Switch has appointed a new business development manager, Nick Jones.

Jones joins Switch with more than eight years’ experience in digital marketing having held senior roles at industry leading organisations working with some of the world’s most recognised brands, including Kia Australia, Coca-Cola Amatil, TyreRight, CSIRO, Australian National Maritime Museum, and TAL Insurance.

Jones previously worked at Sitecore where he held several positions during his four years with the company. In his latter role as customer account manager, Jones was responsible for managing Sitecore accounts across both Australia and New Zealand.
