Sara Lee reviews media

Sara Lee is reviewing its global media planning and buying accounts for its bakery and beverage division, including Australia where the business is handled by MediaCom.

The review covers Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Thailand, Australia and New Zealand, but not the US.

In Australia, Sara Lee consolidated its planning and buying, worth approximately $3 million, with MediaCom in 2008 following a pitch against Carat, Starcom and Zenith Optimedia. Previously, MediaCom shared the business with Carat.

MediaCom Sydney CEO Toby Jenner said: “We are part of the review. We have a great relationship with the client here, and we'll do our best to retain it.”

Fellow GoupM agency Maxus handles the account in South East Asia (covering Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia).
