Fairfax Radio Network's 3AW is launching a new one hour program on food and travel, dubbed “the brainchild” of its breakfast host Ross Stevenson.

The show, “A Moveable Feast” will be hosted by Stevenson with newcomer Kate Stevenson (no relation) to co-host, from this Saturday at 11am. The show's name comes from Ernest Hemingway's famous memoir of the same name.

Kate Stevenson has been presenting restaurant reviews on 3AW's breakfast show for the past five years, using the alias 'Ela Carte'.

3AW acting GM Rob Curtain said the show was the brainchild of Ross Stevenson and will bring a new element to the weekend lineup.

“What we have is a concept from our biggest radio talent in Ross Stevenson. We are just extremely luck that after a week of waking before dawn to host 3AW Breakfast, Ross is keen to focus his humour style on talking about travel to our audience," Curtain said.

“Kate Stevenson has proved to really understand the 3AW audience while bringing a refreshing approach to the microphone. 3AW is excited to have fresh, young talent to cultivate.”

The news follows Fairfax Radio Network's launch of a new desktop and mobile website for its flagship stations: 3AW, Sydney's 2UE, Brisbane's 4BC and Perth's 6PR as well as its Magic network.

To create the websites, Fairfax partnered with AudioBoom, to ensure the audio was compatible with all devices and social media integration.

Fairfax has said its sites provide new opportunists for advertisers including video pre-roll on the live stream media players and rich media ad units.

The new websites also have a focus on content with new live media players offering high quality audience and video. It also includes a dedicated mobile site for viewing on smartphones.

Fairfax Radio Network's technology director Joe Sexton said the new mobile sites are amongst the best in the industry.

“Live video streaming now accounts for 20% of our web traffic, so we wanted to ensure our online audience has access to the best possible video streaming, as well as live audio content,” Sexton said.

“Our new design also encourages users to stay with the site, interact with the content and share via social media.”

The new websites were developed in-hose by Fairfax Radio Network and the Fairfax Digital team.
