Lewers Research has released findings of a survey of 980 Australians about the COVID-19 vaccine roll-out program and what role business should play in providing incentives to get vaccination numbers up.

Some of the findings:

  • Australians are largely in favour of getting vaccinated (particularly those over 65)
  • There is some scepticism about the role of businesses in incentivising vaccines (some feel it's better to come from government)
  • A perfect divide between those who believe incentives from business are a good initiative to encourage vaccinations, and those who believe it’s a civic duty and therefore shouldn’t be incentivised

And here’s what they would like:

Some feel that businesses are helping but others are sceptical

"They are showing their care for the population." and "It'll help people to gain some happiness and bring back some of the things we have missed."

Others: "I feel like they are bribing people which is basically baiting people to get it." and "Waste of money, and if people need incentives then they are morally corrupt."
