Ogilvy & Mather Sydney, part of STW Group,  has appointed Andrew Ostrom as creative director.

Ostrom will be responsible for creative leadership and output from Ogilvy Sydney under the direction of ECD Chris Ford who started earlier this year.

Ostrom’s appointment is effective immediately, and follows the recent hire of Tom Moult as executive chairman, Ogilvy & Mather Australia.

Ostrom joins direct from Droga5 Sydney where he spent several months, and before that was a creative at Publicis Mojo. He has previously worked at AdPartners and BMF as lead creative for several multi-award winning campaigns such as ‘Tongue’ for Tooheys Extra Dry and The Blood Bank’s ‘we gave blood’.

Ogilvy Sydney’s Ford said: "He’s not only been involved in some of the most game-changing work in recent times, but also some of the smartest,” he said.

"He’s an intelligent, results-driven creative with fantastic experience across both big and start-up agencies, so he brings with him a real entrepreneurial spirit. We’re lucky to have him onboard."

Managing Director Mike Daniels said Ostrom was a "business-savvy creative who can quickly get to the heart of the business problem. This hire very much reflects our approach – to be head of the game creatively while delivering outstanding results and effective solutions for our clients."
