NRL Grand Final with a total audience of 3.596 million

Sunday’s NRL Grand Final match pulled in more than two million metro viewers on Nine, making it the most watched program for the night.

The match, which saw Penrith Panthers defeat the South Sydney Rabbitohs, kicked off at 7.30pm and attracted 2.202 million metro viewers, according to OzTam ratings. The Presentation segment attracted 1.794 million metro viewers, while the Entertainment segment attracted 1.02 million metro viewers.

Following the NRL Grand Final coverage in ratings was Seven News with one million metro viewers.

For people aged 18-49, the Grand Final match dominated with 913,000 metro viewers, followed by the Presentation segment with 812,000 metro viewers, and the Post Match segment with 436,000 metro viewers.

For people aged 25-54, the Grand Final match pulled in 1.006 million metro viewers, followed by the Presentation segment with 871,000 metro viewers, and the Entertainment segment with 466,000 metro viewers.

Nine won the night with 47.1% of network share, followed by Seven with 19.8%, and Ten with 13.8%.

Nine says the match was the most watched NRL Grand Final in five years, reaching an additional 1.031 million regional viewers and 363,000 viewers on 9Now for a total audience of 3.596 million.
