Nissan is teaming up with the National Geographic Channel as part of a new positioning for the Nissan X-TRAIL.

The partnership will see the launch of a competition to find three travellers who exemplify varying levels of adventure. Carat Melbourne is behind the new positioning 'Wanna Live', which aims to extend the appeal of the brand beyond just adventurous males to females.

The National Geographic X-TRAIL Adventurer promotion is open to families, couples and friends who travel, and entrants must sumbit a short video of themselves outling the adventure they would undertake in the car.

The winners will receive a five-day adventure in a Nissan X-TRAIL and will have the use of a HD video camera to record their experience. A National Geographic team will also film their exploits to be made into a TV program.

National Geographic has created a microsite for the promotion and entries close on 28 November.

Natalie Kean, senior business manager/trading manager of Carat Melbourne, said : "We worked very closely with the National Geographic channel to get coverage across their social media platforms and gain content that Nissan can run on their own microsite and in dealerships.

"Also, to ensure the partnership extended to dealers and consumers alike, we branded Nat Geo backpacks that will work as an incentive for consumers to book test drives at car displays in Anaconda Adventures stores."
