Nine Sales has appointed Nathan Birch to the role of director of innovation and transformation.

Nine Sales boss Michael Stephenson says Birch’s hire shows the company’s commitment to adopting to the current climate of the industry.

Birch was most recently responsible for development of digital strategy at Deloitte Digital. He was also held roles at GE, KPMG and Orange.

Nine director of innovation, partners and experience Lizzie Young says Birch offers a skill set to Nine, which will help shape the way the company embrace disruption and deliver to commercial partners.

“We identified the need to bring together experts across a range of disciplines who can work collaboratively to connect brands to consumers through our content and platforms, and importantly, shape the future of what’s next.

“Our focus to support Nine’s sales team with market-leading solutions that add value to marketing teams across Australia remains at the heart of what we stand for,” Young says.

Birch’s appointment coincides with Powered’s service and product offering being reimagined for the future.

Stephenson says: “This shift in structure and approach, and Nathan’s appointment, demonstrates how serious we are about changing the conversation with our clients.

“With Birch standing alongside Melissa Mullins, Powered’s recently appointed director of strategy, we now have a serious group of very talented people who are tasked with helping our partners to maximise their return on investment with Nine, by breaking down every old paradigm and harnessing the power of global trends.”
