The Media Federation of Australia (MFA) has appointed Maxus chief executive David Gaines as MFA digital chair and Ikon Communications national digital director Ellie Rogers as deputy digital chair.

Rogers will support Gaines in her role as digital deputy, with a particular focus on digital education. As part of the changes, Mindshare head of innovation Kerry Field is stepping down from her role as MFA digital chair.

MFA president Henry Tajer said: "Kerry Field has made a significant contribution to the MFA Digital Committee over the last 4 years and has played a key role in promoting digital understanding within the industry. [She] has spearheaded many discussions to help evolve the measurement issues and we applaud her for relentless enthusiasm.

"We are delighted to see David [Gaines] take up the reigns in this area. David has already made significant contributions to the MFA in his capacity as an Executive member of the board and has been a passionate contributor to various projects within the MFA Digital Committee, ABA Digital Watchdog and ABC Sub Committee discussions aimed to address issues such as auto refresh and opportunities for new platform measurement."
