McCann Sydney has hired former DT executive creative director Jerker Fagerström, as Dejan Rasic departs the agency.

Fagerström joined DT in December 2014, from a role at DDB Stockholm as ECD. He had previously worked at a number of different agencies including a role at Saatchi & Saatchi Sweden as head of planning and founding partner.

His new role will see him use his background in strategy and business development to lead the creative product at McCann.

“I am a huge believer in the potent combination of creative and technology, and I look forward to working with existing and new clients to help them create great work that works,” Fagerström says.

The appointment comes as previous ECD of the agency Dejan Rasic departs to take on personal projects.

McCann Worldgroup chairman and CEO Ben Lilley said Fagerström’s appointment is part of the agency’s “continued investment in world-class talent”.

“Jerker is a first-rate talent who will no doubt have a huge impact on our clients’ business. Plus he has the most awesome name in advertising,” Lilley says.

McCann Sydney MD Adam Lee says: “Jerker is a natural leader with the right kind of skill set across creative, technology and strategy that today’s marketing challenges require.

“I believe our clients will love working with him, because he’ll bring great creativity, intelligence and passion to bear on their business.”
