Jobs Intelligence - Demand soars for search and social marketing specialists

Freelancers with search and social media marketing skills are increasingly in demand, with freelance marketplace Fiverr reporting a 87% rise over the last six months. 

The skills with the biggest rise in demand are SEO backlinks (+87%), website SE’ (+75%), social media content creator (+58%) and Facebook ads campaign (+56%). 

Fiverr's 2024 Business Trends Index, compiled from trending searches on the platform, shows AI, ecommerce and social media marketing saw significant increases over the past six months.

According to the Index, searches for "AI influencer" have rocketed by 6305%.

Inquiries for AI saas - a combination of artificial intelligence and software-as-a-service - grew by 1,461%  and AI chatbot increased by 85%.

“After a turbulent year, the Australian economy grew in December 2023 and those green shoots are reflected in the way businesses are using Fiverr," said Matti Yahav, CMO at Fiverr.

"Searches show that they are harnessing the power of skilled freelancers to drive their business forward - especially in the areas of AI,  ecommerce and social media marketing."
