Online hotel booking website Hotels.com has appointed Katherine Birch as marketing manager for Australia and New Zealand.

Birch joins Hotels.com - part of the Expedia Inc. Group - with more than 20 years' experience in the Asia Pacific tourism industry.

Prior to her appointment, Birch was country manager marketing, Australia and New Zealand, at HotelClub, which operates sites such as RatesToGo.com.

She will be responsible for driving and executing the company’s marketing strategies together with driving customer acquisition and retention strategies.

“I’m delighted to have someone with Katherine’s extensive experience and passion for travel and technology join our team," said Hotels.com marketing director, Asia Pacific, Abhiram Chowdhry.

"It is a very exciting time for Hotels.com in Australia and New Zealand. In 2009, Hotels.com recorded triple-digit revenue growth in Asia, and Australia remains one of the key markets for Hotels.com in Asia.”
