ARIA and YouTube Music have entered a partnership which will see classic content posted to the video platform, as well as the global streaming of the awards ceremony.

As part of the tie-up, YouTube Music, owned by Google, will post classic moments from ARIA Award’s history, such as performances by Jimmy Barnes, Crowded House, Silverchair and Taylor Swift.

There will also be activity around public voting, ARIA nominations, ARIA Week and the ARIA Awards planned on the platform, with YouTube Music also presenting the ARIA Award for Best Video and Song of the Year in November.

In a first for the ARIAs, the awards will be livestreamed globally on YouTube Music.

“ARIA is very excited to enter into this partnership with YouTube Music. It provides an incredibly powerful platform to showcase Australian music here and around the world,” says Dan Rosen, ARIA chief executive.

“YouTube has a unique ability to be both the home for our historical content, and the engine for our international growth. I cannot wait to celebrate the last year in Australian music at the 2019 ARIA Awards in partnership with YouTube Music.”
