A Dentsu employee in Melbourne has tested positive to the coronavirus.

Angela Tangas, CEO of Dentsu Aegis Network, ANZ, told staff in an email today that this is the first case in the business in Australia.

"We have been in contact with this person and, most importantly, can confirm they are doing well and at the tail-end of their symptoms," says Tangas.

"Our priority is the health and safey of each and every one of our people, and you deserve to be made aware of any confirmed cases within our business.

"In this case, they developed symptoms during their work from home period. As such, and through consultation with local health authorities, we have been advised that the risk level to others in our business is extremely low.

"I am sure you appreciate that we need to protect the privacy of our people."

Dentsu staff, like the rest of the advertsing and media industry trying to minimise the spread of the coronavirus, have been working remotely for several weeks.
