Cinemas are back in NSW as the state emerges from lockdown for those who are vaccinated against COVID-19.

The pent up demand for entertainment during the15-week lockdown is expected to bring record box office takings.

Among the movies coming over the next 12 weeks: Bond: No Time To Die, Eternals, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Dune, Spiderman: No Way Home, The Matrix Resurrections and Ghostbusters: Afterlife.

Val Morgan says it's gearing up for one of the hottest summers of cinema.

“The slate of new content dropping over the next quarter and into 2022 is the biggest we’ve ever seen, so we are confident that cinema is going to deliver incredible results for our clients," says Guy Burbidge, managing director of Val Morgan.

"We know that young, high value audiences are looking to escape and indulge in immersive experiences to catch up on the lost time in lockdown, cinema will be the at the forefront of their summer schedules. As Australia’s #1 cultural activity, cinema is here to stay offering an unmatched experience that Aussies are craving to get back to.

"We anticipate that admissions over the next weeks and months will absolutely erupt.”

Daniel Craig’s final outing as 007, making its debut in London two weeks ago, has been smashing records, both pandemic-era and longstanding.
