Icon Agency has appointed Benjamin Haslem director of media and public affairs based in Sydney.

MD Joanne Painter said Haslem's experience at high levels of corporate and public affairs were valuable assets that align with Icon’s portfolio of work and clients.

“Ben’s appointment deepens the bench of our Reputation team, which is capably led by another experienced ex-journalist, Mark Forbes," said Painter.

Haslem previously co-founded and led two public affairs firms, and has more than 30 years of experience as a journalist and in communications, specialising in corporate communications, issues management, and government relations.

He was CEO of independent Sydney public relations and government relations firm, Jackson Wells Morris, before co-establishing his own public affairs business of ten years, Wells Haslem Mayhew.

Haslem said he was excited to join Icon and work with the team to tackle challenging communications projects.

“Icon’s strong portfolio of government and reputation management work is a great fit for my experience and skill set," said Haslem.
