Last night’s Australian Open pulled in more than 1.8 million metro viewers.

The night time session featured Rafael Nadal and Australia’s Nick Kyrgios facing off in the fourth round.

The eighth day of play pulled in a peak audience of 1.87 million for the night time session.

Melbourne attracted the largest audience, with 785,000 viewers, followed by Sydney’s 456, 000 viewers.

Kyrgios’ appeal has been attributed in pulling in big audiences for Nine’s Australian Open coverage, however the Aussie was knocked out in last night’s game.

Coming second in ratings for free to air TV programs was 10’s I’m a Celebrity… elimination round, which attracted 677,000 viewers across metro audiences.
