Spark Foundry has been appointed to Ancestry’s media account, following a competitive pitch.

The agency, part of Publicis Groupe, will now be responsible for the media strategy, planning and buying for the ancestry website in Australia and New Zealand.

The account, which was previously handled by OMD, is estimated to be worth more than $7 million.

“Following a collaborative and robust pitch process, we’re pleased to announce Spark Foundry as our new media agency,” says Nigel Seeto, Ancestry AUNZ country manager.

“The team showed a deep understanding of our business and our customers, and we look forward to working together to put our media strategy into action.”

Spark Foundry will handle the account out of its Sydney office.

“It’s great to kick the year off announcing our new working relationship with an ambitious and market-leading brand such as Ancestry,” says Imogen Hewitt, Spark Foundry Australia CEO.

“Congratulations to our Sydney team for all their hard work securing the account.”

Ancestry is one of the world’s largest genealogy companies, offering DNA kit services to consumers.
