Telstra.
Telstra has cut back on its spending on advertising by almost 7%.
The telco’s annual report, lodged with the ASX today, shows “promotion and advertising” down 6.6% to $267 million in the year to June.
Total revenue at Telstra was down almost 1% to $23.405 billion for the year to June but profit was up 2.7% to $2.406 billion.
Communication is a top 10 industry category for advertising spend.
In 2024, Nielsen calculated Testra as sixth in Australia’s top 10 biggest advertisers.
However, the latest data shows Telstra dropped out of that list.
Telstra's chief marketing officer, Brent Smart, departed the business in March after almost four years.
