Japanese YouTube sensation Pikotaro returns with his hit song to promote the new burger from Hungry Jack's.

Hungry Jack's has teamed up with Japanese YouTube sensation Pikotaro to launch its new 'Summer BBQ Whopper'.

Created by TWA's PR agency Eleven and its content arm Bolt, the video is a parody of 'PPAP' (Pen-Pineapple-Apple-Pen) which drew more than 234 million views on the comedian's YouTube channel.

It was the shortest song ever to enter the Billboard Hot 100 after it went viral in 2016.

Now Hungry Jack's is bringing back the catchy tune for the spot, which features Pikotaro dancing throughout the one minute ad.

Hungry Jack's brand marketing manager Claudia Cullen said the campaign was a way to show customers the brand's humour.

“We wanted to create something that made our audience laugh and ultimately appreciate the fun yet delicious food we offer at Hungry Jack’s,” Cullen said.

The video will run across social media to support the release of the 'Summer BBQ Whopper' in January.
