Solving people's biggest little problem of not knowing what to watch.

Flicks, the cinema and streaming guide, has launched its second brand campaign of 2023, Biggest Little Problems, to continue helping Australians find what to watch and where to watch it.

Developed in-house by Flicks and directed by Kiwi comedian and filmmaker Tom Furniss, the campaign launched October 1, 2023 across cinema, YouTube, social and display.

The campaign is targeted at audiences in Australia, who face daily struggles of not knowing what to watch.

Flicks marketing lead, Tina Chou, said the question of “what should I watch tonight?” isn’t the world’s most pressing issue. It’s a first-world problem.

“But it’s the biggest little problem out there, especially if you love movies and shows. It’s more annoying than not being able to find your keys or the start of the sellotape, because it’s ongoing and risks wasting the most precious of resources: your time," she said.

"That’s where Flicks steps in. We are the big solution to this tiny problem. We are your independent and honest guide – helping you find what to watch and where to watch it. We are serious about it, so you don’t have to be.”

This idea is brought to life through the dichotomy of seriousness & humour. The objective of the campaign is to establish the Flicks’ brand personality of light-hearted humour while unpacking its brand mission; to solve the most pressing first world problem of not knowing what to watch.

An increased focus on streaming movies and shows over the past few years has seen Flicks’ user numbers continue to grow across all markets, including New Zealand, Australia and the United Kingdom.
