GS1 has launched an app that aims to assist people with food allergies to find products that suit their diet, just by scanning a barcode.
The app provides relevant information to the user about what ingredients are in the product they scanned and whether they are able to eat it according to their dietary requirements.
GS1 Australia's CEO, Maria Palazzolo said “We know that Australians are looking for a way to quickly and easily receive reliable product information beyond the food labels. We are extremely excited to make this a reality for them with the launch of the GS1 GoScan application.”
