The Smith Family has launched their "2012 Back to School Appeal" asking Australians to sponsor disadvantaged children upon the start of the new school year.

Created by BMF, the campaign has the tagline "Help a disadvantaged Aussie child stand out for the right reasons". It draws attention to the 605,700 disadvantaged Australian children that will go back to school without a proper uniform, shoes, or books; and the subsequent feelings of isolation that follow.

The campaign will run across TV, online, and print - including direct mail; and was launched on the January 30 2012.
