Music and entertainment platform Vevo has clinched Sony Music, Mentos, Paramount Pictures and Vodafone as its first advertising partners.

As part of the deal, Sony Music, Vodafone and Paramount Pictures will tap into specific music genres to target consumers. Mentos will align itself with artist premieres.

Vevo launched in the local market last month as a joint partnership between Vevo and content producer MCM Media.

MCM Media chief executive Simon Joyce said: “90% of all commercials running on Vevo are viewed to completion, which is 33% higher than the industry average. In addition, Vevo viewers watch an average of 60+ minutes of video programming each month."

In the first week following its 16 April launch, Vevo had 2.2 million unique viewers in Australia, which engaged with it either on YouTube or its website.
