News Limited's sales boss Tony Kendall has resigned from his position, with a replacement to be revealed "in due course".

Kendall held the position of director of sales at the media giant.

He has not yet revealed what his next move will be.

A likely replacement for Kendall would be News Limited deputy director of sales Fiorella di Santo.

News Limited chief executive Kim Williams said: “Few people have had as rich an experience in working at News as Tony. He has held senior Australian positions, worked in New York, led our magazine division at its inception and over recent years has been a splendidly energetic leader of all ad sales operations across News Limited.

“In his period with the company Tony has built an enviable body of relationships with the broadest range of agencies and clients.”

Kendall said: “What I am most proud of from my time at News are the deep relationships I have built with customers and colleagues alike.

“Being able to combine the knowledge of our clients’ business requirements with the assets of News to create effective advertising solutions has been a very rewarding part of the role.

“Equally rewarding has been the opportunity to work with so many talented people, who I will sorely miss.”
